• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wiring stock light kit wr300

Flyin

Husqvarna
AA Class
I received my light kit in a box, with my new wr300.
The only directions it had were to drill the holes for the tail light.
Where can I find specific information on how to install this?

I'm sure I can figure it out but I would like route the
wires exactly as they were designed.

Thanks

I was in the same boat with my 300. There is a user on here who offered me assistance with assembling it and wiring it, but it was not a simple task.

I ultimately ended up buying a TrailTech X2 light (pre assembled and far more powerful than the stocker:thumbsup:) and wired it in myself. I still have a box with a brand new headlight, taillight, computer and wiring harness sitting in it.

This does not answer your question, but does give you an idea of an alternate option. And it bumps your thread back to the top

new pics

I've pretty much got it all figured out, except a few things.
The first pic is the stock "voltage rectifier".
The second is a shot of the frame, the hole on the left
is for the gas tank.
The hole on the right is threaded, could this be for the ground?
Third pic is the "resistance", I'm pretty sure this needs to connect
to the first pic but I'm not sure how.
The fourth pic is the harness that is included with the kit.
Which some how connects to pic 1 and 2.

BTW, the quotes are the names from the spare parts catalog.

Maybe this will help.

The Workshop manual had a LOT of instructions for different assemblies, including my Power up kit and Baja Designs tail light.

I'm guessing the workshop manual for the WR 300 would have this stuff in it too.

Where did you tap in for power, the yellow wire in pic 1?

Yep.
Splice the power wire into the yellow lead as shown in pic one and then ground it to one of the regulator posts.

I can post some pics later if you'd like.

Hey Flyin---You didn't happen to find any instruction for the light kit and digital speedo install did you?

Going threw the same thing with my new 2012 WR 300. Kinda surprised that there never provided instructions just a box full of parts and pieces.

I'm sure i'll figure it out eventually but rather see some paper on it.
