• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Will the Bull be back?

that prototype in the garage looks an awful lot like a husky with white foam all over it. I hope for their sake they work on the looks, a lot! that computer drawing is ugly.

+2.... that thing is ugly!

Bultaco never really went away. Sherco is reincarnated from the old brand and produces world class trials, enduro and supermoto bikes.

Sherco was going to revive the Bultaco name when it started building bikes. One problem.... The Bultaco name is owned by a little vintage Bultaco shop in upstate NY with the blessing of the late Senor Bulto. This derailed Sherco's attempt to use the Bultaco trademark.

kind of like OSSA, and our local guy Keith L. here in SoCal?? I think (not 100% sure) he owns the OSSA name. see http://www.ossaplanet.com/

wouldn't it be great for all these names/classic marques to be at a starting line near you ready to race?!

I thought Bill Haus from Rode Island owned Bultaco?

Oh I forgot he just owns truckloads of old Bultaco parts.

Not sure if its worth mentioning.....but

Senior Bulto's grandson is none other than MotoGP racer Sete Gibernau..who was regarded as one of rossi's main rivals..untill he retired....he is rumored to be coming out of retirement for 09

He is arguably one of the best riders in MotoGP never to have won the title.

In 1998, rights to the Bultaco name were purchased by Marc Tessier who used it to help launch a range of purpose-built trials motorcycles from his company Sherco Moto S.A.R.L. The bikes were initially named Bultaco Sherco's, then in 2000 the bikes became 'Sherco by Bultaco' and in 2001 the Bultaco name was dropped altogether... after that the Bulto family withdrew the rights to the name from Marc Tessier....

Although still a Canadian citizen, from 1951 through 1953 Bolger served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany and France.

Bolger, pictured above between U.S. Bultaco distributor Bill Dutcher (right) and the legendary F.X. Bulto himself, started racing in 1956 aboard a 500cc AJS.

The Alouette , was manufactured in Canada, in the 1970s.
