• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Will the 2010 headlights fit in the earlier models plastics?

I was recently at a shop that had a new 2010 TE sitting next to an 08 TE. I was looking at the headlights. The headlight lens look to be the same shape and size. The adjustment hole looks to be in the same spot also. I would like to put in a new 2010 lens with a H4 bulb in to the 08 headlight plastic. Is this possible? Is the cost reasonable? It's this, a Baja Designs lens or a Trail Tech X2. I like the stock look the best and hope to stick with it.

edit: It sure looked like a regular H4 bulb on the new bikes. Am I correct?

H4 bulb is good! 35/35w isn't. Is the lens still plastic? If so I don't think it would take the heat output of a 55/60w bulb. :(

I to tried the 45/45w bulb. My stock plastic lens now has some bubbles in it. I put the stock bulb back in in fear of it melting through.

I've run the 45W in my 08 for quite some time now, lens is bubbled, drilled a few vent holes in the back reflector, no more problem with bubbling. 55/60 would probably catch the melting plastic on fire!
