  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Give it a try, worst you could lose is $20 and some time. I'd bet at a minimum you'd have to re drill the mounting holes and use larger washers. Probably have to grind the vertical mounting posts off also.

I put a late model RMZ fender on my '14 CR and had to do the same as well as fab up a mounting bracket.

Well worth it though for the satisfaction of doing something different than the crowd. If you decide to do it put up a "How To" thread so all of us can enjoy it.

I'd guess from your list of old, exotic dirt bikes this little project would be easy for you.:D

I went full wacky and got a Tc449 fender and number plate. Bolted right on - no issues. $29 at Dennis Kirk for the last one.

What did you decide on the front fender for your '06 CR?

Back in the day ('71-'82) I moto'd Bultaco, Maico, Husky, Sachs, CZ and Yamaha. Always wanted a Puch 125, but they were rare. Very nice restoration on #474

Also put 2010 Wr250 tank panels on. At $90 a pair they're cheaper than stock + stickers, and should look better longer. The red is a little darker, but it's the only red on the bike besides stickers.

The only problem with that fender is the 12 lbs. of mud it catches in the valley on top. Looks cool though.

I can picture that. Have to silicone spray it. Or that cool hydrophobic stuff. Southern California doesn't get too much mud anyway.
