  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Rumor is they will be releasing a dirt bike (not trials bike) at the EICMA Show with a EFI 2 stroke. interesting.

Thats a their trials bike that has actually been around for over a year. I'm talking about an all new EFI 2st dirtbike.

I had a close look at the trials bike.....EFI not withstanding...the details on that machine need to be seen to be believed for $8500 bucks I wonder if their making any money....it looks very much a like a works bike

can hardly wait for the OSSA enduro/off road machine

I like the insight of the Euro companies to keep making things different.....trying new things

anyone remember what OSSA abv. stood for ?

the HGT system is approx $1300.... no reviews or tests yet for off road. Only small scooters.... Charles from TSM is fitting one to his YZ144, so that will be interesting.... but, for that kind of money, I don't see too many being sold. I would be all over an Ossa off road bike if it comes out...!

It was featured in a recent Dirt Bike. Annoyingly, they referred to it as direct injected, which it's not. They justified calling it DI because the fuel is injected after air has passed through the reeds. I do wonder how much smoke it makes, and how improved emissions are, despite not being a true DI bike. Oh yeah, and I want one...

Your right Dave..its not the super high pressure voice coil injectors like the ROTAX...which fire right into the combustion chamber

one interesting aspect of the voice coil injectors is the ability to shoot a very small pilot charge at idle.....thus only the correct amount is burned so in effect it idles like a 4T super smooth.....not the galloping lope of a regular 2T as it chokes on exhaust

you have to hear Rotax DI run to believe it....best thing is the oil not flushed from the crankcase by raw fuel.... so very little is consumed....but oil injection is a must have

OSSA is a step in the right direction

Not exactly what i was hoping to see but might be cool for some. More of a long ride trials bike it appears.

I'd like to ride that..... a trials bike for old fat guys like me! Is that what it's really gonna be? Even if it is it probably won't be comming to the US.

OK, I got in touch with HGT and they wouldn't even be able to prototype fit one until spring. They are doing some more mainstream applications at this time.

If that was 5k I probably would buy one but for me if it's not true DI I would rather have a carburetor. The added complexity and higher cost isn't worth the small gain as opposed to the true DI that makes way more HP and easily meets emission standards. I would pay 8k if it was DI.

Wow, I haven't seen that marque on a motorcycle for about 40 years!!

KTM is coming out with a similar model. Doubt it will come to the US either.

Experts have said that DI will work for more industrial like engines but not for high performance. I won't pay a single cent more for any EFI system. The added weight and complexity isn't worth the headache.
