• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Will an X-light (250-310) gas tank fit a 09 WR125?

I was shocked to find out my new to me 09 WR125 only holds 1.5 gallons. WTF? Isn't the 310 like 2.4? I wonder if it will fit the 125 frame as they seem very similar. Was hoping to score a cheap tank off a X-light instead of going IMS. Will that work? I know I will need to strip out all the EFi crap. Anyone got a tank sitting around they would let me try?

thanks

THere is a really good chance it would work. My IMS tank for my '12 WR 125 has the pattern for the fuel pump hardware cutouts molded in the plastic. I bet the only difference is they don't cut the openings or mold in the nutserts. I already sold my OEM tank, sorry!

You just need a takoff off a later WR I can not remember the specs but I thought it was around 2.4 while my IMS is 3.0 I rode with that silly 1.5 gall tank till they came out with and aftermarket. I did not like having to hit every optional along with duct taping a 32 ounce Gatorade bottle to my front fender! You also can order the stock larger WR tank from Hall's or Bills I think that's what I did back in the day and then went to IMS. Seat seems to fit a tish funny but works fine.

I had an 09 with an IMS. Dont want to sink money into this bike but want more fuel so looking to get 2.4 or so out of a X-light tank that someone is not doing anything with.

Yep it should work fine, my IMS tank from my 125 fit my 2010 TC250 just fine.

Also I have a CR125 tank from my 2013, you are welcome to see if that is any bigger...

Later,
