  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Why Should I Buy A Husky Wr 300?

Just to chime in.......I have a 2011 WR 300 and a friend has a 2006 300xc-w. I know that theres a big gap in years but here are my opinions......
Engine-my WR will flat out run all over that pumpkin! (still great in the tight stuff!)
Suspension-I feel that the Kato is very twitchy at any amount of speed. I can also say that I put more traction to the ground. (not sure why..maybe PDS?)
Cooling-I've never overheated mine.....saw the orange one puke alot of juice!
I LOVE my Husky! To keep things fair...I hate replacing shock bearings and greasing linkage. I replaced my shock bearing with a new style All Balls heim bearing and love those grease fittings! Don't get me wrong KTM makes a good bike but for my dollar I'll ride that "old school" Husky proudly any day!

Thanks,I'll check it out. I'm talkin to guy right now in Medford about an 09 wr 250 too.

Those 250s are priced quite nicely.... if you want the full 300 treatment I also have an 09 300 in Oregon that is advertised in the classifieds...pm me if you're interested

454x,

Would you just go get that mega gulp cherry slurpee! We are waiting on a ride report! Oh, you might want to change your number to 711x (Funny!)

There are some great deals out there on new 09-011 WR 300's. With the money saved versus the cost of a new
Katoom, you can put some pretty cool goodies on the Husky like a pipe,stabilizer,ect......and all of sudden the
playing field is pretty level. The Husky is wicked fast, stable and reliable. Just the fact that it is a Husqvarana
and not another SuzukaYamaKawaHondaKatoom is exactly what makes it the most desirable.
:)

It's a done deal...I'm headed to Oregon early sat morning to pick up the new to me 2009 WR 250! It has every thing already: Oversize tank-skid plate-handguards-radiator braces/gaurds-fresh lower endand top end w/new cyclinder-only thing it does'nt have is the Keihin .

With the money I save buying used the 250 will become 300 torque monster**************************************** I have not rode 250 in a long time so I'll be glad to ride that too. All I can say is that in 2007 I sipped the Orange Kool Aid and now I'm bored and want some red Kool Aid !

I bought the same year bike and I think you will find that the 250 works pretty darn good with the Mikuni. I have not experienced the same problems as the 125 and 300 riders are describing. If the previous owner has it jetted close you will impressed. I may try a Keihin some day just to see if it is an improvement.

Take your gear bag with you and find a place to ride on your way back. :)
