    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

why is my husky so hard to kick over when hot??

when i turn my 2010 husqvarna tc250 off while having little breaks while riding at my local mx track it usually gets going easy and with no kick back but sometimes it is an absolute pain to get going and kicks back an awful lot. my questions are why is it doing this? how can i prevent it?? and does it have something to do with my bike backfiring all the time??
 
There are lots written out here on that subject .. Most use a JDjetting kit or the CARB kit available from Husky dealers ... There is also the kicking procedure ... Just start from TDC or just past TDC and kick a full stroke with the kicker ... Not a 2T kick, just a good firm stroke top tpo bottom and NO gas from the throttle when hot ... The air mixture screw at the bottom of the CARB may need adjusting also ...

I hope you can solve this issue and I'll try your fix on my bike as it never wants to start in under 10 kicks on a good day ... I don't even wanna take mine to the track as it is just too painful to me drawing a crowd due to kicking the bike over and over hoping it will crank ... I ride it in the mountains now so I can bump start it ... I'm gonna try a very small pilot jet (#35, #38) next ...


DISCALIMER: I can't start my bike so I'm actually the least qualified to give any advice ...
 
most of the time my bike starts great hot and cold, maybe i flooded it??

Nice clue ... And it makes me squirm a bit like a biittcch in heat ..

For all us poor folks who cannot start a bike .. Can you please give details on what has been done to your bike to make it start?

1) ECU re-flashed?
2) CARB kits? Which one and what jets are in your bike?
3) Fuel screw air setting?
4) Updated Cams?
 
none of them things, there was a guy next to us in the car park (he really knew what he was doing) to give it some proper kicks and got it going, before we got its first service it was hard to start all the time but when we got it back its easier now, they said something wasnt set up in the carb right. so yeah i haven't done anything to it but I'm pretty sure they done something to it when they serviced it

i have got another question, why does mine backfire so much??

And you have no idea what was done to the bike on the first service to the CARB?

When is it backfiring?

Backfiring may mean a lean condition on the CARB but wait for some qualified personnel to give more details ...

backfire like that is probably an exhaust leak. When you let off the gas the pipe draws in air at the leak and causes a pop.

Oh, by the way, valve adjustment will play a huge roll in hot starting. I'm sure your first service included a valve clearance check up.
 
Well i thought i would update.
I have now got Around about 40 hours on the bike.. no problems at all, Starting like a dream, doesn't backfire etc..

Love this thing now.:thumbsup:

Good news on your bike and my bike's starting issue was the auto-decompression device on the EX cam ...
 
What was wrong with it? Im having this issue on my 04 450 SMR.

It was auto-decompressor on the EX cam not preforming properly on my 010 TC250 ... I doubt if your bike was designed the same so you'll have to look elsewhere ... Maybe start with the valve lash and proceed from there ...
