  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

looking for parts (no mad rush) and I can find bash plate and radiator guards but some are nearly 260 bucks for rad guards and 150+ for bash plates.. hand guards all about 100+ bucks !

Not many places either in comparison to the japs and ktm and have been about for just as long (manufacturers that is ) yamaha stuff is ten a penny, husky $$$$$$$ :(

trooper lu has emailed me back as I enquired about an uptite bashplate, rad guards and hand guards. they're awaiting info on whether I can refit my rad fan or not.
I really like the uptite stuff and emailed uptite direct last week but no reply.

overall, is $400+ reasonable for these items or am i just a tight arse in thinking that its a bit much to pay 100+ for handguards $150 for bashy and same for rad guards ?

Does not help you live in one of the most expensive parts of the globe with $ exchange rate ! (Bloody nice thou !!!)

I use these guys in the UK (link below) . The Meca Systems stuff is the best money can buy ! Works out about A$ 115 each for bash plate and rad guards plus shipping from UK . The quality is fantastic .

As for handguards ? I use "BarkBusters" all the way from OZ !!!

I used to have all sorts of brands (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki...) at least the bark busters for them were all the same price from the after market places like Cycra.

Look on the motosportz website, skid plate is 99.95 and the rad guards still let you use your fan 84.95 with a rear brace or 79.95 with no rear brace.
Email us with any questions. Motosportz mike.
