  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Who would buy a carbon/kevlar fibre kit for their wr300 :)

Sandgroper

Husqvarna
AA Class
Now I know this may not be the most practical item for offroad use but for those with a a road spec WR300 would you buy a carbon fibre/kevlar (plastics replacement) kit for your 09/10 WR 300? Their would be some tweaking in the design to make it more edgy and sharper/sleek in appearance.

It would include:
Front SM stlye guard
Rear guard
Side number covers
Front headlight
Tank covers

Cost TBC but expect it to be around 2000 bucks :D

No & why would you?

Well these kits are available for certain other brandname SM bikes so it was just an idea. I think cost is the main issue with most buyers.

You might not but there is always someone with the cash who would love it, its a cse of establishing how many of those guys there are ;)

Cross you off the list hey :D

Is it available, and is it possible to buy separate parts?

Johnny

Sorry Johnny, its not available as yet and going by the lack of response I dont think it will make it to production.

make you're own like i did. just go down to your hardware store buy some fibre cloth and resin and hardner and start making it in layers. put a tinfoil on the bottom so it dosen't stick to whatever you make it with. i made a pipe guard. I would also recomend doing it outside cause of the smell and mess. also need some nylon or vynil glove throw away gloves.

cut away excess with dremel.

I'm a fan of carbon but can't bring myself to drop that kind of coin. Every panel for the smr is made for carbon fiber, except for the headlight housing. Now as for the 300 I gave no idea but can tell ya the carbon bodywork with white paint and cleared would be badass! Like they do on the ducati's
