  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Which shark fin?

I like Kelly's guards, they are major bling. We get tons of bikes in our shop with Kelly's guards installed. Enduro Engineering's are not good due to there squared leading edge that hangs on rocks. Zipty manufactures an extremely light weight racing shark fin, but we are out and don't hold your breath, they won't be restocked for awhile.

I put Motosportz shark fins on the front and rear of my TE310 a little less than a year ago. I'm amazed how well they have held up to the rocks in Md,W Va,an Pa . They were pretty when I got them but will take function over bling . Thumbs up to Kelly for some quality products as you can see they have been used well.

Yeah, thats what I am talking about, nice job. You obviously ride in areas where this is very important.

Do you make any with anodizing that would match the color of the swingarm? I'm not really into the bling thing.

How long is "awhile"?

8 to 10 weeks... they were originally made for the 250/310s, but fit perfectly on the 449s. They look like the sharkfin in our banner ad.

Put me down for one. That's right about the time it will be warm enough to ride around here. Thanks.

It could be longer than that, thats why I said I wouldn't wait. I actually like Kelly's design and will probably run something of similar design. I'd have to see the zipty one anodized, which is something that isnt normally done.

Ok. I guess I will look for something else then. Thanks.

Tinken says don't wait, so anything is back on the table.

Why are you making this so hard for yourself?!?!?!
Just pick one up and be done with it. They are all great products. There have been almost 10 people chime in, and 80% of them tell you the motosportz one is great, and even tell you how to remove the anodizing yourself!

The Zip Ty tank elbow and case saver I bought are excellent. I'll wait for the best. Now hurry up and make me one! :D

Satin anodized would be cool as closest to rotors and swingarm color and transparent in use. Colors are cool but appearing raw and not as much bling for these items might be desireable. And.. when dinged and hit would be less noticeable. Since I'm in a rocky locale I probably should use them but for me satin anodized would be the choice. Now a sexy colored logo would be appropriate, subtle and be a tasteful amount of bling.

Just to add, the Motosportz rear guard took literally 10 minutes to put on. That included dragging out the motorcycle jack, grabbing the tools, and one more beer before I got started.
