  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Which pre-mix and what ratio?

JDJ

Husqvarna
B Class
I know there are likely as many opinions to this one as there are types of oil but I am new to Husky and even newer to 2 strokes. Never had to mix gax except for my weed eater. So I have a 2009 WR300 and I am just looking for suggestions on which pre-mix to use and what ratio. I have heard good things about the Klotz R50 and the guy i bought the bike from suggested 50:1. Any thoughts

50:1 is recommended by Husky. So good to go there. As far as brands go...just pick one that is readily avail to you. Almost everyone on here uses different stuff. I use bel ray H1R. Good stuff and easy for me to get.

I use Amsoil Interceptor 50:1,just took my head off after 4yrs to look at things and everything looked brand new,no carbon buildup at all.

Motorex Crosspower at 60 to 1. Smells good, burns with little smoke, power valves stay clean, engine parts last a long time.

Any full synthetic is good. If you find one with a flash point that agrees with your jetting and riding style you will have minimum spooge and silencer packing will last longer. I use Ammsoil Dominator but if you are going to put around Ammsoil Interceptor would probably be better. I mix at 50:1. There are lots of good mix oils out there, using good fuel is extremely important and often overlooked. At the very least avoid any ethanol blended fuel.

I've run Motul 800 forever, and the internals of my engines are in freakishly good condition. Talk your friends into running Klotz though. Smells the best when running....

anyone ever use this stuff?

I have used it before and it seemed to be pretty good but it was hard to find. I use amsoil interceptor at 40:1- good stuff!

its easy to find by me. its so easy too. just have to have 1 mix can for all different types of mixes. this stuff is all i have used for about 10 years and i was curious as to why no one else suggested it.
