  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Which bark busters

Hi all,

I need to buy some busters for my '14 wr300 but am not sure what to get. The bars are thicker than what is on my kx250 so what would you guys recommend? I want to make sure to get a good fitment. Thanks in advance.

Cycra probend on all my bikes. They seam to ride in a lower position than most so you can go over the bars gracefully without catching your hand and breaking a wrist.

I also buy the plastic threaded inserts for the bars and tap the ends of the bars.

+1 on the Highway Dirt bike setup. They include a 5/8-11 tap and alloy threaded bar inserts for a very solid connection. They also attach to their top clamp which makes for a setup 2nd to none IMHO.

I have used all sorts of guards and in my opinion, the Cycra pro bend holds up the best. They also are pricey. 2nd is the Enduro Engineering/Moose. Ihave some G2 on my bike right now. Love the way they look, but the fit is just "eh"

I've always ran acerbis rally guards. Happy with them decent price local replacements easily available. If you wear thick gloves or have gargantuan hands they encroach on your hand space after a few dumps.

I really like these. Cycra all the way!
Got them off ebay @ a great deal.
