  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where to get an OEM spark arrestor for the stock pipe?

thek

Does any one know where I can get an oem spark arrestor for the stock pipe on my txc 510?

I've had a look online but hav'nt been able to locate one.

I got the bike the other day and it is too loud for my usual riding area.

And are they easy to install (ie do you just pop them in?)

thanks

What year is the bike ? I believe that the stock muffler is the same part as the TE/TC/TXC and therefore you should be able to get 1 from your dealer. If that's the case it will just insert into the end of the pipe and be held in with a snap ring, I also like to use some high temperature silicon sealer to keep it from rattleing around.

Part number is 8000B1307 for most years. Any dealer should be able to order you one. They do in fact just "pop in" but they are held in by a circlip so you will need some circlip pliers.

YEP, just to confirm: mine from a 09TE450 fits the 08TE250/08TE510/10TE510/10SM510 cause I checked. TXC should fit alike.

Hi this is the style of my exhaust do you know the part number I would need?

(example only not my bike)

thanks

I'm looking for this same part. No longer available direct from Husky. No stock at Quad Experts. Gonna call Langs next. Anywhere else in Ontario I should try? New or used. Thanks.

I am not digging into this but you can, your exhaust should be the OEM Arrow special parts exhaust. In the US we have Motovation as the Arrow distributor you could contact them. I do know that when you order an off road pipe kit it comes with the dB killer cap/plug which is the same plug minus a piece of screen on it. Maybe you could get one of those dB killer plugs separate ans add some screen material if you are concerned

Yes, the stock S/A fits the arrow aftermarket pipes.
