  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc where to find 95-97 seat covers?

justintendo

klotz super techniplate junkie
been looking for awhile, does anyone know where one of these can be found? im pretty sure the four stroke covers wont work, i see plenty of them but none for the two stroke..

in 93 they were different have a 360 and had a 610 at the same time, the angles were different
but they looked similar, so it was deceiving

i may have an oe seat cover reproducer interested in mine to make a template and offer them for sale...he does very nice oe style seat covers and offers a few husky ones already... very reasonable pricing too..will let you guys know if it works out!
the four strokes are different, altho they look similiar, sadly

As you guys well know....our bikes are just about classed as vintage bikes with the scarcity of parts - it's a case close enough and of make it fit with our bikes.
On my 95, I basically used a KX500 seat and shaped, moulded and stapled my seat cover but to get precurved and paneled fitted... :(

i agree but its just the italians that have this problem. i can get seat covers for any of my swedes from a bunch of places. maybe the the problem is that its not a vintage bike, its kinda "in between" vintage and modern i guess. they are a bit oddball

what makes it tough is the low production numbers compared to other brands and as such no real profit in making spares for the aftermarket companies

very true tho, i wanted an italian tho because of the uniqueness. just things you have to deal with. plastic and seat covers are tough, everything else is readily available used or new...its not too bad. just have to hunt! thankful for the help of the cafe.
