  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where the heck does the coolant reservoir mount? help!

So my bike bit me in the butt again.

Same story as my other threads, bought a used 06 te450. PO, raced the bike and had it stripped down. So he took off the coolant bottle. I want to put it back on as the bike has been spitting coolant because of my slow deep woods riding. But I cannot figure out for the life of me where it mounts to!
I have looked through the shop and parts manual but they dont show a location. It looks like somewhere lower, but I cant find anywhere for it to go?

I know this is one of those things that I am going to to go :banghead: when someone tells me, but please help!

Obviously I am new to Husky's and am still getting familiar with them.

Thanks in advance,
Jay

The coolant bottle mounts just behind the starter motor and the neck sticks out on the left side.

Thanks for the pic, mine actually points out the other side. 06's have the exhaust on the right side. But I get the idea, thanks!

Yes the metal bracket was attached as well as the rubber pads. So i am all set. Installed it yesterday. Kinda a pain because I had to pull the starter to fit it in there. No biggie though.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Just make sure that there is always some coolant in it. If it is dry, hot steam and coolant from the radiator can make it soft and develop holes.
