  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where did you mount PCV on your te449/511 ?

Hey all - just looking for some input on the best place to mount the PCV box on this bike.
I don't have a problem lengthening some of the wires if needed.

Hi Danny, I have mine mounted inside the left side full length fairing panel on my 511. I had to extend the earth battery wire but other than that everything else fitted like a glove. If you need a picture let me know.

That's where I mounted mine too. It makes it hard to connect the USB cable without removing the side panel.

I also have my PCV installed under the left panel but leave the usb cable attached and tucked under the seat next to the power up plug. The port on the PCV is sealed with a small amount of silicone and the rest of the cable can be protected with a usb end cap or a ziplock bag. This was suggested by Dynojet when I installed my autotune unit.

I have the autotune unit mounted under the seat.

mine is next to the zipty oil tank, on the right side, on fuel tank,
looks cool and is not as vunerable as it looks, and is very accessable
for computer hookup

Welp, just ordered a PCV tonight. Looking forward to the results. I sent my ECM to Zipty for a reflash and was lucky enough to have one of the ECM's that was "locked". Keep us updated on how it goes danny!

I did the exact same as jerbear but have the module flipped over so I can connect the laptop without removing the side panel.

I bodged this together today out of stuff I had at my house workshop as a "Proof of Concept", I will make a nicer version at work (sheared SS, slotted hole, shave down the allen head a bit in a lathe, black tie straps and make a nylon spacer for between the bracket and TB).

Mine is mounted with Velcro like Danny's below. But instead of attaching it to a thin piece of metal held on by the two screws, I used 1/8" aluminum and cut it to the Keihin throttle cover shape. It mounts with only 1 screw, and has a hole cut out so that the indent fits through. This provides a nice flat area for the pcv to mount.

Hmm that is pretty nice.
This is what I ended up doing - works fine, doesn't hit my leg or anything.
