As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

Still-- its an important question, and a valid question, and one that should be addressed, soon, in an honest voice.
Personally i would hope our current stewards at Husky NA, working hard at setting up race teams, and cool catalogues and so so so much more, would take a sober minute and set the record straight.
Out of respect for the brand, and with an eye to an open and honest relationship between Husky NA and mere 'enthusiasts' like myself, I will leave it at that.
For now.

For all the great contributors to this website that have the distinct pleasure of living and working in this wonderful playground we call California(myself included) in case you haven't noticed our state is in the early stages of bankruptcy. Our bond rating won't allow us to take a loan out on food stamps. The guys up in Sacramento can't make a decision on a budget to save their lives. The state is slowly winding down day by day. How did this effect our CARB approval? Tremendously. CARB is now functioning on a skeleton staff with key staff members working a three day work schedule. This has been in place since late November. Once this new system was put in place normal things like processing applications literally came to a stop. We use the same homolgation attorney as many of the other manufacturers. They are very knowledgable and have a great deal of experience in working with CARB. In their 30 years of business they have never seen a situation as deplorable as this.
So, rather than point fingers at the "inept" management of Husqvarna North America lets put the blame back where it really belongs on our great and glorious Republic of California.
I don't mind taking flack for things we've truly screwed up on( and I'm sure we have) but this issue is a non-starter. Thanks for your time. And Mike Kay, thanks for keeping it real.
