• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

WHEN WILL THE 09s BE HERE - they are here! they are here!

Woo Hoo!!! Just went to my BMW dealer and had him give me my G450x deposit back (only then does he tell me that there will be no CA legal 2009 bike). Now to get a TE310!

Please, what is the update. Is Comifornication (CA) getting the TE's in before the 31st dead line of Incentive, Tax, Registration hike?

The bikes can now be sold in CA, I have not had the time to check the CARB website today to see if that has been updated.

!0 West Motorsports has 2009 in stock and a big shipment on the way

I dont see others anwering this question, and i dont see any upside if i answered it.

Still-- its an important question, and a valid question, and one that should be addressed, soon, in an honest voice.

Personally i would hope our current stewards at Husky NA, working hard at setting up race teams, and cool catalogues and so so so much more, would take a sober minute and set the record straight.

Out of respect for the brand, and with an eye to an open and honest relationship between Husky NA and mere 'enthusiasts' like myself, I will leave it at that.

For now.

While its very easy to point fingers and sit on the oustide of a business that really know one in this forum has ever had any real hands on experience managing, operating or knowledge of all the various components that go into its day to day operation, I will try to shed a little light on why it took so long to get the CARB approval.

For all the great contributors to this website that have the distinct pleasure of living and working in this wonderful playground we call California(myself included) in case you haven't noticed our state is in the early stages of bankruptcy. Our bond rating won't allow us to take a loan out on food stamps. The guys up in Sacramento can't make a decision on a budget to save their lives. The state is slowly winding down day by day. How did this effect our CARB approval? Tremendously. CARB is now functioning on a skeleton staff with key staff members working a three day work schedule. This has been in place since late November. Once this new system was put in place normal things like processing applications literally came to a stop. We use the same homolgation attorney as many of the other manufacturers. They are very knowledgable and have a great deal of experience in working with CARB. In their 30 years of business they have never seen a situation as deplorable as this.

So, rather than point fingers at the "inept" management of Husqvarna North America lets put the blame back where it really belongs on our great and glorious Republic of California.

I don't mind taking flack for things we've truly screwed up on( and I'm sure we have) but this issue is a non-starter. Thanks for your time. And Mike Kay, thanks for keeping it real.

By the way, the Heroes Deals Retail incentive has been extended nationwide through April 30th due to the late delivery of product to California.

Now that in its self will make a lot of people Very Very Happy.

Good decision on Husky NA.

I bet a lot of 09 models (TE310 and 510 for sure) will sell out by the end of April as the Cali dealers will be chomping at the bit to move some units.

Absolutely astounding! Husky/BMW has stepped up and are now my new SUPER HEROES. :notworthy:

Deposit Made

I meant to post here when I saw the paperwork up on the CARB website, and when I slapped my hard earned cash on the barrelhead at my local dealer, but the porn police at my office have decided that all forums are off limits. Tried to post from my phone, but could not get it to work.

Anyway, Eric of Eric's in Pasadena said he should have the 2009 TE's in within a week. He took my deposit. He said (and it appears confirmed in a post above, but not yet on heroesridehuskys.com) that the $1000 deal is getting another month of life.

Now, just trying to figure out how to pay for it when the government votes to tax the people in my industry at a 90% rate.

thank you Mr. Harden

while I agree whole heartedly with you that the blame for this situation does in fact lie with the inept and morally corrupt govenment of this wonderous state in wich we reside, I applaud you and the coporate structure at Husky for your commitment to placing husky back where it belongs, on top of and in front of the pack. Now please excuse me, cold front moving in and it is time to ride!:cheers:

Yesterday GP called & said the 09 TE450 has arrived.

Only heat cycled it putting around. Minimal vibration & looking to stifle that annoying chirping...

I picked up a 2009 TE510 from Moto-Forza (Escondido, CA) on Saturday. I guess this thread is about done. I am now an official Cafe Husky member.

I will have my 510 with in 10 days per Malcolm Moto

Maybe you could talk them into doing the paperwork this month even if the bike isn't ready? The extra 1% on an $8,000 bike is $80, not a huge deal but still.....
