  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ok, first off, what im trying to do is supermoto my TE449 without breaking the bank. So, before I sell my beloved carbon fiber road bicycle on ebay in order to afford wheels/brakes/etc, I'd like to ask you guys a couple questions. I know there's alot of experience on this forum.
1. Which wheels are compatible from other Huskys and my TE449? I understand the 2 stroke ones are different. I have heard that 04 to current are the same but I also heard from my dealer that 11-13 4 stroke wheels are different from the older ones.
2. Are the offroad wheel and supermoto wheel hubs any different?
3. If I install a set of OEM Husky wheels, 17", provided they fit mind you, is there an existing caliper relocation to mate my stock TE449 caliper with a Husky supermoto disc, or will I have to go with an aftermarket disc and bracket combo all together?
Thanks!!

I believe you could use the stock diameter rotor to avoid the caliper relocation bracket. If you are not racing the stock brake will grab great on the street.

This is my findings and only relate to the '11+ 449 and 511 models.

1. At least on the SMR's they changed the spoke patterns (dammit!) and I think also the hub width/offset on the '11+ 449/511's. Not sure about the dirt varieties. I ran an older hub on a 5" rear rim with no fitment issues using my stock spacers. Depending on year hub the brake disc's may be offset in relation to your calipers.
2. They are different part numbers, no idea on what the physical differences are though.
3. *shrug*

I purchased a take off supermoto wheel set from a 449/511 and have the front brake caliper relocator that did not work on my TE630 I can sell you cheap if you need one. It will allow you to run your dirt caliper on a 320mm front rotor. Also have a rear brake rotor that fits the 449/511 for that is for sale that would not work on my TE630.
