As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

That place is deader than a door nail.

Coffee puts way more effort into it than they have. Props to him.![]()

Once Coffee created Cafe Husky it was all over.
Huskys4Life;73499 said:I put forth alot of effort but with no help from the admin and no control over the server or software it was pretty much useless.
Huskys4Life;73497 said:I debated about responding to this thread. Whether to bring up something that has been hashed over several times. I came to the conclusion that it is part of the history of the resurgence of Husky in the last couple of years(in regards to these online forums).
HuskyTalk was created in 2005 by Kevin Bratetic as a Husky only site. Shortly after creating the site he started spamming it up on ThumperTalk. Got in a pissing match with the owners of TT and got himself and any mention of HuskyTalk banned from ThumperTalk. You could not even type the word HuskyTalk at TT. It was censored. Most everyone was using TT and it was being moderated quite superbly by Coffee.
I beleived that a Husky only site was a great idea. I was asked by Kevin to help with moderating the site. I was then left on my own to keep HuskyTalk going. I tried my best to breath life in to that site but just could not get past the stigma that HuskyTalk already has.
Once Coffee created Cafe Husky it was all over. I just did not want to realize it. Coffee has created a great site and all the members here make it even better.
I have since tendered my resignation at HuskyTalk. I have left it alone the last 6 months or so because it just is not worth the effort. I guess I realize it was never worth the effort!

I ended up with a KTM450 but my very next purchase was my SM610. I'm sorry the site didn't make it, as we Husky enthusiasts can certainly use all the help we can get, but it's been nice having you here![]()

I have my share of posts on there, with very few responses. Some of the threads I've started on here and thumpertalk are pages long. It's unfortunate, but what can you do right.
Happy Trails

I definitely care. Especially about the members, they are good people.Huskys4Life;73731 said:I do know why you created Cafe Husky and why this site has grown so much since its creation. As I think a majority of the members here know. You care.
You are welcome, and yes it is a lot of hard work.pvduke;74100 said:Thanks to "Coffee" (Dean) for, well, everything.
...
Coffee made it easy for me at TT, and even easier here. The amount of time he put's in for our benefit must be a full time job at the very least and I can't begin to fathom what an undertaking administering TT and this site must be.
Thanks Coffee-dood, for everything.

They sure are. Almost living, breathing, organisms that are quite unpredictable. That is part of the charm.Huskys4Life;74115 said:These online forums are fickle things.
