  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Whats taking so long with the long range tanks for 09 Huskys ?

Sandgroper

Husqvarna
AA Class
I like most have still heard nothing about the new 15ltr tanks for the 09huskys.

Can anyone shed some light on whether or not they are going into production ?

My only concern now is that with the new model line up we will be left with nothing.

:S

I have the IMS 3gallon- they are available now. Sure they aren't 15liters or 4 gallons- but personally I really have more cappacity than I need now. So I have not followed on any news on the further developement of tanks. Maybe you need more than 3 gallons I don't know- but I wanted you to know the IMS 3 gal does exsist and works fine. I have hit more than one tree with it!

Yeah those horns sticking out just dont make sense when you see every other LR tank on the market.
It could be on the cards if Clarke or Safari dont get their act together and make something.
Dam, this is the most reliable bike I have ever owned (way above KTM and Honda) so I need to keep it and a tank is required for this.

I read somewhere that the Safari Tanks will be available next month some time, just cant remember where i seen it:banghead:

The Husky tank to fit the TE250, 310, 450, 510 is still under production. We have a pre production tank molded and now they are working on the mounting side of it.

Regards,

Sally

I just got this reply from Safari this morning. I have been staying on them every couple of months. Finally sounds like they are getting close. But I wouldnt hold my breath just yet, I have been asking them for 30 months. I also remind them to leave room for the damper clamp on the steering stem. The tanks for the 08 and 09 are the same, and they are different for 2010, is this accurate? :) Ken

310-450-510 are the same for 08-10
08-09 250's are the same as above.

if we are talking TE's-
Otherwise everything is the same accept if it had a petcock or a Fuel Pump. SM=TE FI, TXC=TC carb
(accept Xlite (totally different tank- 09'petcock 10'FI)

2011 everything changes completely

I mounted up the IMS tank to my 450te, looks great and feels better than the stock peanut between the knees. What I dont like is when I brake or go downhill the bike dies when I still have 3/4 gallon left. ARGH!

Why in the fark is it so hard to make a 3-3.5 gal tank with lower sides and have 2- pick up hoses down there to get the fuel instead of hanging a gal of fuel several inches out the sides????

My '08 TE 510 did the down hill stall out on a ride. So I pulled the tank and fuel pump and found the pump was dislodged and popped up some. Some new zip ties, with one top to bottom, and all seem good. :applause:

I emailed safari about a month ago about their tank for the fi huskys, the reply was that its going to be '5x better' than the current aftermarket tank... we shall see
