  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC What will be the difference between 2014 and 2015 models

I've been thinking about a 2014 model but I hear the 15's will be out mid to late summer. Is it worth waiting for the 2015's? Any rumors?

Im waiting for that news as well....
the giggles have started on the FE350 and I want a plate (for fire roads etc)
I can get a plate on a '14 FE now, but its a modified title, not 50 state legal = the state can change its mind on any "converted dirt bikes" any time it wants and you may or may not have any luck if you move to another state on whether or not they will "recognize" the dirt to street conversion per Washington State statute.

If its confirmed, then I will simply wait and get the 350 thats 50 state legal.

Watching........

Will be interesting to see if they move away from the KTM platform more as they said they were going to do and I see repeated a lot. I don't see that happening.

KTM platform is solid IMO, I personally have no issues with it per se (all brands have their ups and downs)
I cant, have not and realize I never will get along with PDS - thats my biggest complaint.

KTM has an established parts/dealer network and importantly after market stuff as well.
Having that behind the Husky brand is AWESOME.

Ive done enough "boutique" bikes where you cant get squat for em, even basic stuff unless you chop up something from another bike to "try" to make it fit, attempt to make it yourself, or if you do find it, pay through the nose for the part or accessory at X times mark up for a different brand that has market penetration and presence.
Been down that road too many times - personal thing, but wont go there again.

I will be surprised if there is any significant difference in each of the current models....but I do expect that MORE models will be available since some street legal models have been promised. My bet is on a 690 Enduro and SM (or I guess it should be called a "711" to keep up the Husky family nomenclature...maybe a free corndog and Slurpee with every one)

Apologies for the US centric jokes...7-11 is a chain of US convenience stores and the Slurpee is a giant snowcone in a cup
