  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st What to do about brush is shrouds?

Pro Class
Been around these 2 piece shrouds for a long time.... Well since 02'.....

I have them zip tied together.... but I still get tons of brush wedged in that 1" gap....

I've seen the lower shroud removed....piece of metal in front.....

Just yet to see a real answer....

I crashed into a flowering Laurel bush last year. When I came out the other side of it there were pretty flowers stuck in the shrouds and guards. ;)

I sawed the points off the tank plastics so they don't gather up a salad every time I ride. The point catches stuff and guides it into the seam between the tank plastic and the radiator plastic. This will also prevent breaking the front bolt hole out of the tank plastic the first time the point catches on a tree.

I removed the lower rad shrouds. I also sawed off the plastics flush with the rad guards and zip tied them on. This served my race bike very well last season. People got a kick out of my ratty little tiddler. Most people only saw the back end of it!

Drilled a hole through upper and lower plastics and use a cable tie. Stops the bushes getting caught in there and ive got black plastics so youd never notice
