  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc What pipes are people running on there 2t?

Hey I have a 2013 wr300, wanting to get a new pipe and muffler for it, what are people running and do they make much of a difference?
I have looked and can only really see FMF or pro circut.
I have fitted a force bashplate/pipe guard in one, and I took my bike down to get a pro circut but apparently the pipe won't fit with the guard, so is it worth scraping the guard for the pipe?

Stock pipe and FMf turbine core 2. A bit quieter than stock, actually repackable, looks good, no performance difference.

stock pipe with Leo Vince. I have stock also, but can't tell about difference. one thing I dont like about LV is that spark arrestor is a metal screen and you can't put a water plug in the pipe when screen is installed.

FMF makes a good pipe power wise, sometime fitment is interesting.

Doma makes my favorite pipes. Usually mid range pipes.

I tried a C2 pipe on a 09 WR250 and really liked it. More power everywhere than stock, made it feel like a larger displacement bike. No idea where to get one.

Has anybody run the Q-stealth? If so, how much quieter than stock is it, really?

I am currently running a FMF gnarly pipe and stock silencer. Gnarly makes a bit more power but doesn't seem astronomical. You can repack the stock silencer, just need to drill some rivets and it's a bit of a pain to reassemble.

I have the gnarly pipe and power core 2 muffler and love it. I noticed a big difference in bottom end

I lost interest pretty quickly. Bought a stock pipe and silencer on eBay for $65 delivered :notworthy: last winter. Sold the two silencers for $40 each on eBay so my TC2 cost me about $40. Another frivolous investment for simplicity. :D Will say it don't match up with stock pipe WRT pipe sealing. Used RTV with OEM grommet and it's all sealed now. I have had Q Stealth on other bikes. Yes, it does make them a bit quieter but nothing like say a stock KDX200 noise wise.

Bought my 09 wr250 used. Has a DEP pipe and Leo Vince silencer. Also came with a Fatty but I haven't tried it yet.

I've got the Gnarly/Q-Stealth also and the Gnarly made a significant difference down low. Way more torque but I think you give up a little top end. Doesn't rev as
high as the stock. If the Q Stealth is quieter than stock it's not by much. It doesn't sound that much different to my ear but I'm just going off memory so...I like it a lot, though.

All stock on a '14 WR300 for me - I can't ride the bike to it's full potential anyway, and noise isn't a concern, so a pipe isn't going to make any difference to me. I'd rather just put the dollars I'd spend on a pipe or muffler in more fuel and 2 stroke oil and ride it more!

Unrelated to this topic, but I did front the coin on a Lectron... now that was a very good investment!

Currently running a FMF Gnarly with Turbo Core silencer. More bottom end power than the Doma I just smashed. The FMF is made out of much heavier metal also. Bike came with a 2C pipe that I need to send out for repair. I have never ran that pipe. From what I have read I think the Doma is a great all around pipe that sounds awesome. Not sure where to get one anymore though.

I have a Gnarly on both 360's
a Turbine Core on one and a Turbine Core II on the other
the oem pipe was OK but very heavy, oddly the pipe itself was quieter than the Gnarly but the silencer sparky was a big difference
yes it has more bottom end as stated above but I don't think it really sacrificed much on top
the Turbine Core and II silencer sparky is a huge difference in sound, not so much in decibels but a much more pleasing sound

'08 WR250 with Stock expansion chamber and FMF Turbine Core II. Smooth bottom & Mid with nice torque.

running a dynoport big volume pipe...seemed to boost overall power but really made the top rip...

im running the dynoport spark arrestor model silencer with it...fairly quiet for a big bore. i think the volume is about perfect...the airbox note is probably louder till you get higher in the band then the exhaust takes over

I have one of these to install on mine and it is tempting from what you wrote
