  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc What model year Husky 125's have broken frame issues?

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi guys I'm looking at later model 07 and up Husky 125's(cr and wr) and I'm a bit confused on which bikes had broken frame issues? What was the deal with this issue? Was it a small amount of bikes had problems and were they recalled? How will I know if I look at a used bike was it taken care of or not?

thanks

2009 and 2010 models were hit and miss frames. My 2010 frame was no good. Husky warrantied it after several pairs of broken head stays and a few cracked engine mounts. The 2011 frame I've had no problems with.

Yep 2009 and 2010 had isolated frame cracking issues.
Thanks for the replys. I looked at an 09 wr125 with about 5 tanks of gas through it, original everything even tires. The frame looked fine but what happens if I buy it and the frame breaks? Am I going to have to pay or will Husky NA warranty this through a dealer? Has anyone gone through this?

If I recall correctly there was no major frame issues with the WR125's, there was no recall for sure. They replaced the frame on my 09 CR with one from a WR before it even left the showroom. The 09 WR's had some issues with cracking the factory head stays but they came out with updated ones that corrected that issue.

Personally I would not worry about it. Solid bike with a few isolated frame issues. Fantastic bike, don't miss out.

I'm pretty sure the major issues were with the CR's. Husky took my '09 CR back and gave me a brand new '09 TXC 250 as a replacement.

Ok guys thanks for all the feedback it does not sound like a widespread problem. I will continue my search. Thank You.

There are some threads about this on TT with details. The 06-08 had the different plastic but the frame was the same except there is a new post that holds the tank on. I think some people weld it on to use the newer tank, or maybe there is another way. But that is the only difference that I am aware of.

Get the bike with the newer frame and then get the WB 165 kit!!! You will smoke your riding buddies when things get tight! The plus side.......the bike holds its own in the faster sections:thumbsup:
