• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What is the year of this bike?

86 400 XC

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Its a runner thats needs some work for 700 bucks.
Driving out to get it Saturday.
But the young guy passed away on a street bike sad deal.
His dad called me to sell it and he knows that it has a new ignition, as he paid for it.
Other than that it needs a water pump but he is not sure about year or size.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Perhaps in Canada it is a 1989, but in the USA that is a 1990 510 WXE. No 1989's were sold in America. That has a rear frame loop so it is the enduro model similar to your top photo of the clean bike. I own a 1990 510 WMX similar to your bottom photo. Those were the first year of the Italian Huskys and many Sweede 510 parts will interchange.

It is an 89. if it does not have adjustable (red caps) on the wp forks but marzocchis it is the Enduro.

www.evo-mx.com make the decals for us, so don't bother patterning them... The bike in the later thread was one of mine and an enduro one really. Andy.

That model was made in Italy by Castiglioni in CAGIVA factory at Schiranna....
Using parts from Sweden and new parts made in Italy.
Still a Husqvarna but to me being not made in Sweden doenst deserse so much attention..
Anyway, for 700 bucks take it.
Be aware of heads. That year had exaust valves made in two pieces......welded together....the worst idea ever thought.....
as always MY PERSONAL OPINION...
