  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What is the stock exhaust on a 2011 TE 250?

Wondering what is the stock exhaust is on my bike? ( 2011 TE 250) Thought I read in one of the reviews that it was an Akropovic? I know the 2012s come with a Leo Vince stock.

Also.. I have not posted in awhile. Just got back from a ride in one of the many OHV areas here in So Ca. I have to say I think this bike rocks! I am not a super aggressive rider so the 250 gives me plenty of what I need. I only have 350 miles on it and it seems to be running better.. Maybe because I changed the oil and cleaned the filter lol.. I am noticing the stalling issue from time to time and I get too many neutrals shifting between 1st and 2nd and thats no good when hill climbing. Any one else have that issue? It almost feels like it lodges in to neutral and I really have to stomp on it to get it back into first. Might have repair look into it when I take it in to get the JD tuner and the Cycra hand guards put on. I also need to get some new tires. The Karoos are about half shot but as we know.. they are not good. I need a hard compound as I ride mostly hard rocky terrain with some occasional sand. Any suggestions?

What size is your rear Karoo? mine is a 140/80 and it wore thru the mud flap in 50 miles. The manual says the rear should be a 120/90. My 2011 310 says the exhaust is a Husqvarna made silencer.

Yep .. mine came with the 140/80 as well. After 400 miles the center tread is pretty worn down. I am not experienced enough to know just how bad they are but the tread pattern alone is not confidence inspiring. I am going to order either the Dunlop 606 or the Motoz tractionator enduro tire.

Ahh.. thats right. Thanks. Would you throw down on a new exhaust or is the stock one solid.. ? I like the sound w/out the baffle.

So far I'm liking the stock one and I like them quiet. If my speed continues to increase though I may ponder a change.
