• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I can't help but laugh when I say the word Bloke. Bloke bloke bloke lol... :D

I need help!

Sorry Australlian folks, but that word cracks me up... :busted:

relatively the same as mate, except not necessarily your friend. A guy.

I don't think the term Sheila is so prevalent now.

Yeah, some bloke means some guy. Sheila lost its use just after WW11. It became Bird in the 60's and 70's then Chic. So we could of had a Woods Bird (WoodsChic's Mother) and Wood Sheila (Woods Chic's Granny). No offence WoodsChic purley for educational purposes.

Vegemite is certainly an acquired taste if you aren't from around those parts. It's a brown paste made out of yeast extract, vegetables and salt that comes in a little jar. Done tried some. Not for me.

vegemite is alright as long as you spread it thinly just so you can ''Just'' taste it ,bit like doctor peppers in australia no one had the taste for it .tried it once in the U.S 20 years ago and threw the rest in the bin eeeeeeeeeeeeeee yook

Vegemite is great. I stick a spoon in the jar and eat it. One thing it is brilliant at is when making proper gravy a tea spoon of this gives the gravy a real lift. Think of it as a kind of vegetable stock. it is also good for you although it is a tad salty The Poms have Marmite in the UK, now that is pretty awful stuff

Bloke = good old buddy.
I tried Vegemite once; a substance one must get use to. Not bad though, just very different.

If I said bloke it is purely a reference to a dude. It does not imply friendship. like that bloke over there or he's an odd bloke etc.

Vegemite is black not Brown & tastes nothing like Hummus. Its awsome, have it on toast, sangas & even put a bit in your Spaghetthi Bol

Just read the whole thread and felt I had to have my say. The term 'sheila' is alive and well. Also I tried Dr Pepper once and thought it wasn't bad at all! There is a new flavour of vegemite on the shelf beside the real vegemite. Have not tried it as I am sure it's like light beer

To me a Bloke is a guy that you don't know, to me after reading this thread it sounds like dude

And as for Vegemite its a gift from the gods, if you haven't had it from the day you were born it's hard on the tongue. So if you blokes (haha) over their are going to give it a go put it on thin until you like it like me. I have bread with my V/mite

Dr Pepper for me is not the best, they couldn't give away here, I've heard the government are going to use it to eradicate the rabbits plague that we have here. Mate, i'm not having a lend of ya it's deadly stuff:lol:
