  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

All 2st What did you do to your Husky today?

Yeah that was half way through, didn't picture finished job, I sleeved the extra soldered conections then ran the wires up for front brake light.. doesn't have one. An put black heart shrink over them for bout 2 inch, will wrap up in writing tape.. the non adhesive stuff.
She's getting there.

First time poster! Bare with me I have 2013 te449 and just installed trail tech vapor with dashboard, got everything working pretty good except gas light! Now I cut harness off old speedo and used that it read fail across screen! Used power and ground off of harness as well as brights and signals for dashboard, that leaves me with 4 wires left unused! Looking for gas light now green giving me 14v all the time yellow brown giving nothing! Last is yellow gave me 5v when light was suppose to be on and when I filled tank up when light was supposed to be off gave me 14v which tells me yellow has to do w fuel but working opposit on how I need it! Harness from speedo from clip is red black white grey blue orange green purple brown! Need to know if I wired wrong or problem exists in bike mind u besides fail light everything worked properly!

Yeah I got that, heads with my dad in isle of man giving him something to do in retirement. He's slow but it will done.

Got husky 250 two months ago in bits off a mate who is going travelling an couldn't be arsed to finish the job.

An a Kawasaki zyepher 90 which I will never do anything with as road bikes are not worth a bean in my head.

Oh rode the bike 30 miles an had a few silly moments.
Got drenched in torrential rain has back end step out on the road right infront of a vw camper.... lol rolled off an rear came in line obediently.

Zyphers here in the USA were 550 ccs and 750 ccs. I had a 550. Cute little bike, but after a few years, I quit having interest in riding it, sold it a couple of years ago.

always had a little interest in those, as they were a close relative to the zrx

Whats missing on the 03 wrf ?
 
I bought it with a dropped valve, so I left that with my dad who is putting 3 valve seats in 2 guides and I'm not sure if he has done that or not... I'm in no major rush.
The bottom end needs a balancer shaft but otherwise is complete.


Oh the zyepher is a 550 1990 my bad.
Yeah it looks like a good bike to hack up an make into a bobber but I've 3 or so projects an this is the last in line as I'm not keen on it.

Not what your after buddy but build quality is excellent plastic fitment is great and parts availability is top notch.
It's a brilliant bike an makes me want to put a larger tank on it with husky front end an enter enduros.

Oh took missus out on husky 250 in the woods as pillion, Was a right laugh at 5-25 mph lots of sliding and paddling but I didn't bin it or her.
Amazed she stayed on thinking of an enduro pillion class...
 
Finally managed to get the 165 engine back together after breaking the right hand center case due to the idle gear / clutch gear exploding and the shaft the idle gear runs on bent takeing the case out
Used earlier model cases but had to bore them to take the late modles larger crank diameter by about 2mm and also had to make new main bearing seats / sleeves as the mains from the earlier model are larger in size also.
Took 5 kicks to light the thing back into life and went off for a test ride, 120 miles later and plastered in crap realised all over again what a great fun bike the 165 is ! Anyone want to buy a 350 KTM :lol:

There is a technical area where your issue may get more attention, wiring is not my strong suit.
 
Right,this the right section to say "what did you do to your Husky today"!:D
Well ,after being happy with replacing the PV cable and testing complete system and finally understanding how it al works,I took my SM125 for a testdrive and locked engine ****************************************!:confused::(....Pulled clutch lever immediately but still left a 100 ft tyre mark in tarmac trying to control the "weaving" bike and not come off!
Took it home ,last night ,checked compression and yep....50 psi ,when it had 160 before!!!:(
