  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st What did you do to your Husky today?

Early clutch hIMG_2863.jpgIMG_2865.jpgIMG_2866.jpg as the same amount off teeth but have a different cut and wont mesh correctly with the crank gear.
A new basket comes with a matching gear when bought here in the UK, Still have not found a gear to suit this early basket yet.
The gear is 10mm wide the later items are thinner,
And a idler gear that did 21/2 hours with a broken case and bent shaft lol

The parts to fix my 177 came in today after a month of waiting. The gear I broke was the only thing on back order, go figure. I replaced everything else just because they had a million hours on them and the thrust washers all had some wear.

I recently got a new gas cap for the 300.

Then a couple of days ago, I accidentally whacked my exhaust header on a rock.:(

I've got a friend who as the torch and the caps to get the ding out though.

Yeah, that is a great way to show the boys how it's done. Dented pipes are like scars that carry a story that makes you sound badass.

Just rant and rave to your husband about the dent, like it's the end of the world. Act depressed and just keep complaining about it. Constantly bring it up......

Bet he you get a new FMF one!

The compression on my 2014 TE300 was getting low with 2500km on the clock (85 hours) so time for a top end rebuild.
Work done:
  • Cylinder head modified by Two Stroke Performance (TSP) for improved squish band and combustion chamber profile
  • New Piston and rings
  • Cylinder and power valve gear cleaned up
  • Adjusted jetting to 35 IJ, 168 main and NECW needle on 3rd clip (as advised by TSP to match the modified head)
  • New VForce4 reed valve block (the old OEM one had gaps in the reeds and new OEM reeds cost more than a complete new VForce4 unit)
  • Repacked exhaust silencer
  • Checked starter bearings and brushes (mark the starter centre magnet assembly before disassembly as there is no alignment tab! If it is out of alignment the starter won't rotate or could spin backwards)
  • Replaced starter relay (worn out)
  • Put it all back together (with no bolts left over)
She started on 3rd rotation with no strange noises. Yay!
I have a 100km ride scheduled for Sunday to break-in the engine and get my next adrenaline fix.
