  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st What did you do to your Husky today?

Changed the seal behind water pump. Was a bit tricky since last owner had put extra spacer there that I had to remove to get original seal to fit. Hopefully coolant leak stop now and my transmission oils don't turn to grey anymore.

A bit of shop time today. Changed steering head bearings, sharpened the rear tire with a knobbie knife, installed a front mousse and zip tied the number plate back on ( smashed at a race last weekend)image.jpg

Let's start a "new" thread on current riding, modifications, maintenance, etc. Now that it's winter and riding is limited I think most guys are modifying/refurbishing their bikes this time of year. Let's see 'em so we can all enjoy and get ideas.

I'll start:

New seat and foot pegs

Billet front brake reservoir cover

The seat and pegs certainly are grippier, the billet cover is pretty much useless bling (KTM orange unfortunately)

Waiting on a steering damper from Motosportz, then I'm going to send off my suspension to ZipTy for a revalve now that it's broken in.

I think he just wheels it out onto the trails for photo shots then back to the garage! ;) my bike never even looked that good new!:D

repacked 125 silencer yesterday. 70 hours of spooge looked a bit how ya goin. new tyres today/tomorrow in prep for weekend 4 hour enduro:banana:

probably should wash it I guess. firedog makes me feel guilty:(

Hey CoS, would you be so kind as to share with me your graphics person/people? Bike looks fantastic! very nice ! i just picked up an 02 cr125 that im going to put new plastics / graphics on.
thanks

Finally rode the WR300 to Mikes Sky Ranch in Baja. A nice 360 mile round trip! A must if you never have  Did pretty well on fuel (my biggest worry) 3.2 tank made it to each gas stop on reserve (80-90 miles). Figured it used roughly 1/2 gallon more than the TE510 and CRF450x I was with.

Sourced parts. Set of adjustable WP forks, throttle and clutch cables, 4 pack of spark plugs, rad shrouds, front and rear guards, fork protector kit, spare front brake disc, 13 14 & 15 tooth front sprockets, 46 & 50 tooth rear, x2 DID VT2 xring chains.

Polishing alloy and plastic parts up over the weekend zzzzz

Not a very spendy day at all :p
