  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What bike is that?

Hello!
I just bought a husky, as i am new to them, I dont know anything about it, coming from suzuki gsx-r . It was sold as smr- I doubt tho. Documents show that it is a Husqvarna H8 / H803. 40kw. year-2004. In additions it says version: CA. Can anyone identify please?

If that is an 04 they changed all the plastic and tank to an 05-07 style. 04's are completely different and yellow. thats an 05-07 and good solid bikes.

That speedo and rear disc and caliper is pre 06, very strange...My guess is 2005 SM converted to dirt. The rear shock looks like its off of a TC.

Good point. Solid rear disk, muffler and shock resi look 04 Might be an 04 with newer plastic.

yes. Estonia is correct. how about the engine. Google gives that smr should have 43kw, but mine says 40kw.

It's an early twin cam - 04/05 maybe 06.

The chassis number should be 17 digits on RH side of headstock something like ZKHA300AA4V000123. The digit before the V tells you the year so in my example 4V tells you this would be an 04 bike. If you quote the chassis number in full I can try to identify which model it started life as (TE or SMR).
