  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st What benifits are to be had with th 2010 Ducati ignition?

What benifits are there in tunability or reliability with the Ducati ignition?
Have you had the oportunity to ride both the 09 and 10 300's to see what all the fus is about... apart from it being a Husky of course :)

If it is worth while and cost effective will it fit straigh on to the 09?

I own the 2010 and also go a chance to ride a 2009. My feeling is that the 09 is much more explosive and feel more MX like, while the 10 has more grunt off the bottom and doesnt rev as fast as the 09. the 09 feels stronger. I must mention though, that the 09 I rode was original with the mikuni, and my 10 has the keihin from almost day one. Both were at almost brand new condition at the day I compared them.
BTW: I had no idea there are any ignition differences between the two...

Alot of reviews say the 09's are a handful, maybe they were trying to tame her down for the masses and not scare people away with too much raw power

I also think it would be the pipe that may be restricting your bike - if you still have that issue.
Also check it doesnt have a restrictor at the start of pipe

My bikes at the shop getting the Mikuni carb rejetted which I will use until the Kehin arrives this weekend. We have an enduro race coming up this weekend, hopefully the bike is running and ready in time :)
The shop had fitted the aftermarket pipe when I bought her but left the stock rear pip on it.

Who makes a good tail pipe that matches up the factory supplied pipe?

:)

They say the 2010 is more mellow due to the ignition settings & pipe. I have just smashed my race pipe it came with & have since got it repaired. I think I have read that Buzuki you live in Blacktown & if you ever need your pipe straightened I have a guy in Glenwood who does an unreal job for a small fee I thought. I have actually got my spare ADR pipe on my bike now,minus all of the restrictions. As the guy who did it says its pretty much a copy of a Gnarly & is a stronger pipe. So I should get more low to mid, on top of that the Hyde bash/pipe protecter will fit it. Its actually a 09 250 pipe, which you can still buy. I am going to try it & see how it goes. I have also got power valve springs from R&D & there is a spring that is more aggressive than the stock one.

the ADR pipe your refering to is the rear pipe yeah?
I thought the 250 pipes would have been slightly smaller.... maybe not :)

Croc, are there many options on the power valve springs? Are they difficult to fit? I wouldn't mind a bit more bottom end, if there is a spring for that.
Cheers

It comes with 4 springs the top one is more aggressive than standard & the other 3 go down from standard, so the more you take off the top goes to low end. I haven't tried to fit them yet, but it comes with detailed instructions. I haven't even opened the pack yet.

These are the spring settings

Weakest, Orange IO 4700rpm FO 4900rpm

Middle, Yellow IO 5400rpm FO 5600rpm

Stock Spring IO 6000rpm FO 6200rpm

Strongest, Blue IO 6500rpm FO 6600rpm

IO = Initial Opening RPM
FO = Fully open RPM
