• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What a thing to do to your Husqvarna!

One more reason that I am soooo afraid of heights (and people who can't spell accident)!

Boy....I don't like this. There doesn't seem to be anyway for me to go in and edit the title of my thread. I left the R off the end of "your" and there are no advanced options in editing to correct it, at least none that I can see.

He did not try to save the bike, highly intelligent decision!

I fixed it. There are some missing features at present, they may come later. In the mean time just click on the 'House Keeping' button and let us know what you need.

Wow!! Crazy video. It always amazes me how quickly things can go badly. Even riding at what appeared to be not a dangerous pace. Glad he bailed when he did.

Husqvarna tough!!! Wonder what Rad guards he had.

7602's of course!

When riding right along the edge of a cliff like that, an extra measure of caution is advised. Unfortunately, a good number of riders, both on dirt and on the street, fail to adhere to this sensible tactic. They're too busy getting a speed rush or competing with their fellow riders.

I did something sort of like that a couple of years ago. Not quite as bad. I tried to save the bike and guide it back towards the trail. Because of this, the bike ended up only going halfway over the edge. that was the good news. The bad news was that I was all by myself in the middle of nowhere when it happened. I couldn't pull the bike back off the edge of the canyon. I had to walk up to the top of the hill where my phone got some reception and then called various numbers till I got a hold of somebody who could ride out and help me pull the bike to safety.

WOW! I've been to places that things like that could happen but i never saw or even heard anyone going over the edge! At least he didn't go over, but did you hear the panic in his voice? What a mess!

oops. Rode a ton of stuff like that at Moab last year. Fun stuff. We did not loose anyone but there was opportunity and it was wet / slick...

I need to get back to Moab ASAP.

Nasty! What a close call. How could his Husky take a tumble like that and only need $80 worth of repairs...you would think some major tweakage would have occurred?!
