  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc wet spark plug

hi guys
just wondering if anybody could help me my 2000 wr250 has a wet spark plug.
I've taken the plug out and when i kick it over water splashes out of the spark plug hole why would this be happening? What can i do.

You took in some water from a creek crossing or large puddle....? What does the "water" smell like? Do you know if the bike has regular coolant in it or just water with an additive? Check the level in your rads if you know you didnt take one a large amount of water while riding. With the plug off, keeping kicking until theres no more water coming out and then go to the air intake/air filter and make sure thats dry. Once its all dry, put a fresh spark plug in and see if she starts-after you verify you DO have coolant ;)

hi people ,my wr250 has water coming out of the spark plug hole with the plug out of course when i kick it over and it smells like fuel does any one know where this water is comming from and why.
my air filter box is dry also.

Please stop posting the same question over and over.

We need some more information. Water shouldn't be in the cylinder. You say it smells like fuel, is it water or is it fuel? Because water doesn't smell like fuel.

Water can't get into an engine many ways. It can get it if you suck it in during a creek crossing, or it can get in from the cooling system (but then it's not water, it's coolant). Did you do a creek crossing? Is it coolant? Is it fuel? How much is there?

the reason your water smells like fuel is because of where it just was
a 2 stroke has residual fuel and oil in the bottom end, so expect that

now about other questions, are your radiators full?
did you wash your bike and get water in the pipe?
did you do a creek crossing?
did you pressure wash it without looking where the water was going?

to diagnose something WE can't see WE need more input from YOU

there are a lot of caring sharing guys on here and a ton of info you need to learn how to get help by helping them, diagnosing something you can't see is hard enough but they are doing it as a courtesy, this is a share and share alike forum full of cool pictures and stories
