• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I normally don't post these, but this year my club is putting this on our Gorman Big 6 track.

That's a great preview. Those are some of my favorite trails! Nothing like a little local knowledge and that video to get me pumped.
My pit crew is lined up and ready to go. Best part is I can sleep in my bed, have breakfast and be door to track in under 30 minutes!

I considered it as Sportsman or I guess C/Novice but not getting up at 3am for any more races, especially if will be a mob scene and I've never ridden there.

No mob scene, this is a well organized event. The Prospectors created the Big6 series and in the past have put on other races like enduros. It looks like we will be moving away from our enduros and over to the Hare Scrambles series.

Found the event website.... Looks like a fun first for me. Maybe I will be there. That grey on grey was impossible to read

It's just a 9 mile loop and we tractor it the night before, so it will be nice and smooth. Should be fun.

Sounds good. First race for me is to learn how things are run.
Go for it! I was going to wait for this to be my first race, but already have 2 Hare n Hound rounds under my belt. You can come pit with me if you want. Plus you have that cool rig all ready to camp so no need to lose sleep.

I believe if you want to pie plate and enter sportsman you'll be in the 8:30 race with me. I'm trying to rank up the hard way starting in beginner or D class so I can get a feel for earning points. Planning on getting to the track around 6:00/6:30.

They said they are using a small amount of the MX track. Do you know how much ?? Do I have to clear triples and stuff ?? Any idea how the start is going to work ?? Is it dead engine ? do you only start with your class ??

I will be there, my son is in the first race on Sunday I am in the second race. I am in Training Wheels MC We have a few guys racing

Drive over from SB not so bad early. Sportsman or C? Appears from research C is the novice class and where to begin. Sportsman maybe a A/B rider that doesn't want point or doesn't fit a class... http://gnccracing.com/faqs. As far as any jumps... An issue for me where I don't jump at this point and sand also not a strong point, so rolling over any is my plan and avoid doing something I'll regret when I want to surf. The 8:30 race is what I'd be in and appears staging last rows for 50+ C. Will see how I feel as Sunday approaches. Only have to pull my signals and good to go.

I'm entered D even though it's not listed. I think if you enter a letter class you need D37 license. Sportsman is really for anybody. I'm no motocross star either, plus the track is more like an old school outdoor MX track. The sand isn't too bad out there compared to the desert. It's not super fine or deep. There's not much in the way of nasty rocks either.

That's not a bad strategy. Make a new division and then win/podium. OK D it is  Now as long as there is no surf this weekend to compete for my time.

copied from the D37 page this is just the pre entry list I'm sure there will be a lot that sign up on site.
