As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

FastWay pegs work. Husqvarna used the same pegs on everything. Also the fastway pegs are adjustable.

Got the lectron on, runs great bike pulls hard. Idles clean all day then can just walk over to it and snap the throttle open and she responds instantly,
Going to take her to the track this weekend im pretty sure. I've been riding my yz250f last 2 weekends but itching to take the 125 out. Going to a sand based track more than likely probably going to go anothet .25 turn out on the power jet just for some more margin with the extra load. Im sure itll be a blast

Most any footpeg will work if you grind down the tube slightly so it fits between the mounts. You dont have to take much off.

First trip with the husky to blue diamond went well, ive ridden my 09 yz250f with suspension work and some bolt ons the last two weeks, the first session on the husky was a bit shocking, I knew 125s are more clutching, and shifting, and revving but i didnt realize just how much more!
All in all it was a blast, not many changes needed at all and ill.feel very at home. The stock front tire needs to go too but nothing drastic.
Once i got more.used.to it though it started making sense and did all the jumps just as i would on the yz. I came off the track one time literally said out loud holy smokes or god darn or something like that Just because seriously just hammering the clutch and grabbing gears while twisting the grip off the bars. Its a blast, i need to do a few things to the husky to make it more to suit me, wider pegs, probably get a stock yz set there pretty huge and i like them, softer grips, and suspension work. Im 200 lbs and ride moto so its obviously soft. The engine can use more power but honestly at the same time it doesnt. The whole point of this bike is to make me a better rider not build.a fire breather.

I did about as much reading as i could for lever fitment and it seems any ktm brembo brake lever will fit and any complete clutch lever/ perch works for the clutch. Probably going to grab a set of asv f1s the basic plain asvs for 70 buck total.
Should i get adapters to run oversized bars or stick to 7/8ths bars?

So some updates on where Im at with the little husky.
She's been run on sand tracks, intermediate soil, and a large outdoor track down south in North Carolina with some high speed sections and cool tight turns with uphills coming out of alot of them.
The bike is working really well. I went to rip the suspension off last week to send it out and when I got to the front axle nut it was stuck! This bike is an '04 and has never been taken apart. I noticed that when removing the subframe the upper bolt was jammed up pretty good. So I had to ruin the axle nut to get it out even after letting it sit for a week while hitting it with wd40. I ended up jamming a 14mm spline drive socket into it and that took it out. I ordered a zipty replacement with the 3/8 drive hole, and a magnetic drain plug since I had to pay 13 bucks for shipping might as well order a couple things.

What are you guys doing to seal up that area? My dad suggested using some shrink wrap. Seems like a good idea, but with this issue never being brought up before I wonder whats going on here.
Anyways loving the bike, cant wait to throw on new tires and get the suspension back from Evo Industries. Should be even easier to turn yet!

fyi Tusk foot pegs from Rocky Mtn, for a 2008 Yamaha yz250f work great. I just removed 3 mm from the length of the pivot shaft. They sit level and are slightly lower / rearward from oem.

wd40 is almost worthless as a penetrating oil. try sea foam deep creep or at least pb blaster. i also recommend getting a small propane torch. the deep creep is my favorite and works with the torch well..

I was worried about that too, I called Lectron and ordered a Husky specific cable and worry no more.

Put some grease on it then heat shrink wrap it....done deal
Well, I guess you could go that route.
Personally, I think if you are spending $400 on a new carb, that the extra $30 for the correct cable is money well spent......

Got the suspension back from evo industries, phenomenal. First ride feels every bit as good as my 09 yz250f with the suspension done by evo.
Basically transformed the bike as far as handling chop and big hits, still need to get fresh rubber on it but even wirh worn tires i could put it anywhere i wanted on the track.
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Helped the guy i was parjed nexr to troubleshoot and fix his injected rmz450. What a bear to kick. And kick and kick lol.
Anyone looking for motocross set up suspension call evo industries, i worked with the east location. I had ferracci do my old tc250, pro action did a couple bikes for me and seriously they werent even close towhat i wanted. Evo nailed it twice now.
