• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well I went and picked up an Orange bike

X, when I was a kid (JHS or HS time late 70s) I had a poster of that exact BMW 900cc on my bedroom wall, along with.....the obligatory Farah poster and Marty Tripes on the all red CR250 Honda. Nice garage man!!

79 CR250.....love that machine.

Thanks Guys,
Yeah every time I see one of those RED Hondas I think of MT. I think he could have done even better with better rides early on.
He was an American hero though against the "unbeatable" Euro riders.

But Farah seemed a little skinny, even back then :D

John i gotta ask with the majority of your riding being mx and open trails why the xc over the sxf?

The Kick Stand! jk :D Well I'm 55 now and ride MX don't race at it just enjoy the turns and jumps. I thought the XC would be a little tamer and softer and went with it over the SX. This bike flat out rips. I read where the xc's where a little softer engine wise and guys were adding exhaust, re-mapping, ect to pick it up a little. I guess they were talking about the XCW bikes because I don't need to add anything to this engine wise. I was thinking the "softer" XC engine would treat me better. This bike really feels like a full on MX bike to me with a better tranny. I do like that's it has six gears, bigger tank, and the kick stand of course. It comes in handy when I follow the grandkids. I'm new to KTM's but "think" other than the 18" rear, 6 speed, and kick stand the 350 XCF is the same as their 350 SXF. This bike will flat out eat up open trails! My son is extremely impressed with it and flys on it. So far I'm very happy with it.

That's awesome the new ktm four strokes seem to all make awesome power.

The 250f is class leading hp wise, 350 outruns some 450s, and the 450 is the second strongest i believe overall.

Unreal. And they all rev to.the moon and make power bottom to top, truly sound like motors i would love, i love a motor you can just hold it wide open and really rev it out when you need to without grabbing a gear and it keep pulling. Havent had a bike good for that in quite some time!

Your 350 im sure from what ive read is exactly that and very flexible.

Flexible is a excellent way to describe this engine at it really does seem to pull forever too. Roll on power wheelies in third, no problem :D.

Yes the VA series is full of pumpkins. It seems when I asked some of my riding buddy's a few years ago about how their KTM's handled in the tight woods they would say "OK" or "not to bad after lots of changes". Now with the newer KTM's they have stepped up the handling to where the bikes will turn out of the crate. I'm a Husky guy at heart but the new KTM's have really came a LONG way. IMHO KTM's have always been good bikes but had weird for me ergos, didn't want to turn, balance off, and needed way to much back and forth body movements to get them going and turning.
