    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Damn craigslist! Rainy day, just relaxing and checking the web before I go over and see my father this evening. WTH! 1983 500XC for $600!!! And 15 minutes away. Resist. Resist! I have always wanted a twin shock air head but was looking for a WR400. I guess the lure of a black and blue kicking foot, paint shaker like vibrations, 100 mph plus stock gearing and guaranteed loop outs was to much for me because it is now mine. Will not take much to make her rideable. Front wheel bearings, some adjusting, getting it running 100%. Even came with a title. Guy I bought it from knew nothing about it and got it at a estate sale. The estate dude was the original owner and hence the title. Amazing. Then I figure out what to do with it. Look forward to doing stupid stuff on it. Let the fun begin.

Dd you see the post in "Husky for sale in the world" this morning? Eastern Wahington deserts here you come!

thanks guys. Just did a quick wash. Tank is perfect, no dents, seat perfect, pipe, perfect, motor looks clean, and overall quite intact. Someone spray painted it here and there. Oh well, will reverse that. These things are crude :)

Very simple for sure, somewhat crude yes. You can see this design philosophy in Husabergs right up to 2008, welded on steel sub frames and all.

My first Husky was a 83 500XC, what a awesome bike it was. I raced it in motocross, the local track had just put a cement starting gate in and I could get the holeshot most everytime on that bike. Great fun! They can be mellow enough for a great trail bike also.

Who needs a reason to ride in rain? I grew up riding in snow, rain , mud and twisted woods trails when I was in my teens. What I learned from that has kept me from getting killed several times over on my cruiser and in the dirt, the wetter it was the more I ruled. I was riding a Honda SL350 in 1977 just before getting my MR250 with a group from the Hoda shop I was about to buy it from. They were on MR250s , modified CR250 and a TL125. They were floored that I was unstoppable where they were hanging up and the tighter it was, the better I was riding. The only place they had it over me was the fireroads because they had 1976 suspension and I had a 325lb bike with 1971 suspension
 
Go to craigslist, motorcycles, Medford or redding, vintage huskys gas gas etc.....posted today, some guy is selling off his collection.
