  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well i blow up the husky (2010 TC250)

What way should i go about it?

Trying to give the fags up mate myself, try no. 2 and 2 months now...$20 a day, by the end of the year you could almost by a new WR300 year in year out

I quit smoking yrs ago and it actually took over 3 yrs (or more, maybe 5) for the craving to stop 100% ... But the craving get to be less and less, like a caffeine addiction which is child's play to stop ..

Myself, I would not give that kind of cash to rj reynolds or any of his kind ... That purchasing a bike example sets the $$ in a clear picture of the waste involved ...

Quitting smoking 8 years ago has been the best thing I've ever done in my life, even better than switching from Yamaha to Husky!
The bike example is reason enough to quit! Who wouldn't love good health and a new bike every year!!
It took me a few goes to quit, and like ray ray said after 5 years the cravings go away.
Good luck with quitting, I know you can do it!

Ok, so I just checked and as of this morning $1 Aus = $1.05 US. Holy shrimp on the barbee Batman!

I think my dreams of diving the great barrier reef and looking up Husky brothers for a romp through the bush just went up in smoke!!! And I don't even smoke...wow.

hey guys thanks for all the input!, The ole girl had 90 hours on her when she locked up. My dad is an ex bike mechanic and i told him when the bike got to 80 hours we pull it down and rebuild it and inspect for any damage, He was all like yeah yeah well do it at the end on January. well on the 13th of January she let go. and of course if happened right at the bottem of the hill haha. so when we got home dropped the engine out and started ripping her apart got the head off and good got the cylinder off and there it was marked and crank was solid, once i slit the casses i found heaps of ( liquid gold) mehetal shavings. all the hard cassings on all the bearing had let go bearings where all F**ked. the cylinder isnt to bad defiantly seen worse , i would'nt put it back in how it is though. Got some parts on order from my local bike shop.

Parts on order
- rod kit $251
- main bearing $83ea
- cam chain $68
- gasket kit $166
- oil seals kit $101
- bearing all but mains $77

Haven't order cylinder or piston as i don't know what im going to do yet.
when i put prices up on the first post they where just to get the cylider fixed.
rebuild is going to cost between $1300-1500

also have broken my clutch cover not from when my bike locked up, what if good choices for clutch covers? i can only find Rekluse cover are they good?

cheers Trent
