• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello all, I do not own a Husky yet, but I am planning to replace my KDX with one in the spring. My son and I ride on our own trails and some of neighbors here in Carlinville, IL. My current ride is a '95 KDX 200 that has all the appropriate mods done to it. My son is riding an '03 KX125 and an '07 KTM 250XCF-W. He loves his KTM. I an interested in a WR250,300 or a TXC250. I like the lighter weights of the small bores, but am seriously considering a 300. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I think I would like an 08 TXC250 the best if I could find a leftover new one or a very clean used one. Please post your experiences and opinions on these 3 bikes.

Greetings all,

I'm about to jump onto the Husky bandwagon because of the 2011 TE 310. I'm an amateur rider, rode my first motorized bike two years ago, a pit bike!... fell in love with trail riding, and got the CRF230L (mainly cause it was light, low seat, and durable). Tweaked it some (rejetting, exhaust, yada yada yada :) Now I want a bit more but will probably be the last bike I purchase for awhile. So the 2011 TE310 was my planned next investment, it seems to fit the bill perfectly -- although I'm not too sure about that tall seat. I'm sure I can adjust, as I'm 5'11"... Hope to hear about this bike soon, I plan on purchasing as soon as Spring hits Vermont (USA) in March or April of 2011.

Hello all, I'm John and I live in Wisconsin. I made another post asking about CR 250s and I'm hoping to join the ranks of Husky owners .

Hi to everyone out there. I'm Chad Larson from Wisconsin and new to Cafe Husky. I've been surfing the forum for likes and dislikes of different Huskies out there and desided on a 2010 250 txc. I've found alot of good information out there and say thanks for your help.

Hello,

my name is nick and I live in Vermont. I am interested in getting into the sport and am looking for a txc250. what do you think? I have ridden some 125's before, but want to buy my first bike.

Scott from West TN.

Have some BMWs and vintage Japanese bikes.

Use to ride a mid 90's 610.

Time to get a little more dirt than the BMWs allow.

Looking at 310s & 450s....trying to make up my mind.

Hello all:
I'm Robert. I have recently bought a '10 TE 250. I looove the bike but I have had problems as of late. First off, it won't start when it's cold. I would run the battery down, then jump start it to get it started. It's totally fine after the initial startup. It will start hard again after about an hour of sitting. Another problem is that I had oil shooting out of my countershaft sprocket seal. I talked with the tech today and he said the bearing was demolished. I have a little over 1000 miles on it. I loooove the bike but I don't think I can rely on it.

Hello all.
I am Chris from southern California. I don't have a Husky yet but I will as soon as I find a 510 SMR in my price range.

WR 250 or 300

Hello,

i have a TE510 and love the beast. I'm not a big bloke but i ride pretty open trails in the national parks around Sydney where the 510 is in it's element.

There are some pretty good deals going on at the moment on 2010 WR's and thinking about maybe getting one. I haven't been on a 2T in 15 years when i had a YZ125, which was good fun, i can still smell the blue smoke. Given my absence from 2T's i'm a bit worried that the WR300 might be a bit much for me but given the open trails i ride, will the WR 250 be a bit light on. Any ideas? Thanks.

First Post

Hi,
Just found this site. Looks great.
I'm a senior rider from the USA. Park City, UT. Got into Huskys in 1977 with an almost new 1976 360 CC WR. Rode if off and on for 10 yrs then stuck it in the back of the garage. 20 yrs later when AHRMA came to town got it up and running. Now own 5 vintage bikes. It's fun to be back riding again
