  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Welcome a new 511 convert

A Class
A excellent rider and good friend sampled my 449 about a year ago. He rides a dialed in 08 GG 300.
After several more rides he could not get out of his mind how good this plat form is and pulled the trigger on the 2011 TXC 511 at Bill's last Friday. The GG is for sale. Welcome Joshua Ford to the family. Like the rest of us who have purchased from Bill. Josh was very impressed with Bill and his crew. Josh and I will see you at the NW Gathering in Nov.

The mags hate it and everyone who rides it seems to really like it, seem this played out a few times. Good stuff. Get over your preconceptions and enjoy.

B*gger that! I bought the wrong bike. My dealer at the time told me I should have ordered the 511. I´ve put so much effort in getting the 630 the way I want it. But there´s no way around the fact that the 511 would have been a better choice. If I bin the 630, I´ll be off sharpish to get myself a new 511.

Magazines hate the 449/511s because they are under sprung, under fueled, over restricted, have buggy ecu's, quirky geometry, heavy and come with really shitty tires.
Husky owners fix these problems and end up with a do it all, heavy duty, kick ass machine that usually travels on one wheel.

I bled Orange for 11 years, 'til I rode a dialed in 449, then I bought one. now I have a do it all, heavy duty, kick ass machine that usually travels on one wheel, and anyone who rides it wants one.

@Huskynoobee: Us Brits use both!

@Motosportz: Just done 14000kms on the 630 and now we´ve got a new Husky dealer here. So I can take it in to get the valves, TPS etc. checked. It runs prefectly as is but he´s got iBeat and so can also check the "flashing geen light". AND he´s got (he says) the last of the street legal 511 SMs on order from Zupin (he was told that Husky will not be making ANY SMs when they´re gone!). Was sorely tempted but they told me that I wouldn´t be a happy 511 owner: 10 hour service intervals and absolutely NO Autobahn!

Husabergs are the same. The street Huskys are all heavier. Alternative???

Interesting. I know that after MY13 and possibly 14, the Kymco engine is no more. The replacement engine will be in the 450-510cc range but will not be the old Cagiva. I hope they keep the cts, I am told the new frame is different, they are in testing now. The new frame squats lower in the turns.

Kinda to bad IMHO as I like this motor a lot. My hope is they keep it and call it ia TR511 and add the new motor / bike because I think it is going to be hard hitting and more focused like the x-lights.

I think this is a prototype of that engine maybe?

I agree totally Kelly, I like the current engine. It is electric smooth and powerful. It has it's issues, but they are workable. I believe with the proper modifications that it is 60HP capable and it needs to be in order to be competitive with Kawasaki and Husaberg (KTM).

The image of the engine you posted is of Italian origin and I believe the new engine will have BMW flavors. I'd like to see a scaled down Terra engine.
