  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Weighed my WR300

of course I'm thinking about adding more weight or a seat belt to mine because last race I was in a group of overly excited spectators picked the my bike up and ran off with it.

Another buddy weighed his bike.

2012 300XCW w/added eqpt; Cycra Pro Bends, KTM alum skid plate, stealth steel/alum rr sprocket, carbon fibre pipe guard, alum rad guards, exhaust flange guard, fmf silencer, GPR v.4, machined triple clamps, tugger.

258lbs. ready to ride.

Seems like we can pretty much put to bed the idea that the WR300 is "heavy," since yours is within a few pounds of both KTM 300s you weighed.

I'll try to weigh mine this weekend! I'd also love to weigh my 610 and my brother's 410.

Another

"266 full of fuel on the 10 year old CRF450R with knobby's (not those fake tires), skid plate, hand guards, and a 11oz heavier fly wheel"

"1993 Yamaha WR 250 barkbusters, skid plate, 3.6 lb tool kit, Ultra HD tubes Frt & Rear, full knobbies, & 2 gal of gas............264 lbs"

2012 300XCW w/added eqpt; Cycra Pro Bends, KTM alum skid plate, stealth steel/alum rr sprocket, carbon fibre pipe guard, alum rad guards, exhaust flange guard, fmf silencer, GPR v.4, machined triple clamps, tugger.

258lbs. ready to ride.

I went out and bought 2 identical digital scales. weighed my 11 300xc completely full of fuel and every imaginable gadget available for a ktm.
257.6 lbs. looks like I'm right in line with you.

2014 KTM 300 XC W/E-start, barkbusters, pipe guard and skid plate, steering stabilizer with BRP urethane risers, light kit and vector speedo, tugger straps, tubliss tire inserts, rekluse clutch ,fuel filled to the rim 244LBS. My equally equiped wr300 was 262 LBS

Measured a couple Huskies today. Used a good (Tanita) digital bathroom scale, 2x4 under the opposite end. I think it's a decently accurate method, but might be off by a couple pounds or so.

2012 WR300 - Handguards, HD tubes, Hyde plastic skid plate, 7602 rad guards, full tank, head/tail light, speedo - 265 lb

2006 TE610 - Handguards, big alum skid plate, full tank, HD tubes, head/tail/blinkers, passenger peg and rear subframe removed - 335 lb

2000 TE410 (kick start) - Handguards, full tank, small factory skidplate, head/tail/blinkers, speedo - 287 lb

So, my WR is right on what everyone else has measured. I was surprised my brother's old TE, under 300 ready to ride isn't bad! My 610 is pretty heavy, but I can't say I was surprised by the number. Really not bad considering what the bike is!
