  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc weak bottom to mid pull wr 250

Hi everyone its been a while since i posted, but again i need your help. To cut a long story short my 250 had a steel liner fitted to the barrel that had twisted trapping the pv and damageing the bore. The liner was repaired and rebored and now she runs a 67mm bore making her a 252. The problem ive got the bottom to midrange pull is really weak and then the the tops end comes on brutal. the jetting im useing is PJ 32.5 standard needle in the second clip and a 390 mj which worked well with the standard 250, But she even starts and runs fine just feels weak. Also the gearing is 14 50 if that helps. Any ideas to make rip a bit better.

Probably jetting but it could be your power valve sticking open.
See if you can find a bit of hill and just keep the power down low and check the plug you can also play with the air screw it won't solve but it will give you an indication wether it's lean or rich. I was running a 30 pilot until I got a JD kit.

Hi all i think ive sussed it by going back to the 35 pj and 3clip on the needle has made it better but not brilliant so maybe im on the right track..
also checked the pv and it all in time and moving like it should.

The pv is working as it should and moves freely when you open the throttle you can see it move through is arc. The bikes is not anymore noisey than its always been.
