  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi,

I wanted to intro myself as a new, proud owner of a 2009 Husqvarna WR 165. I've owned quite a few Husqvarna in my life and this has been one that has been great so far! I've only had 3 rides since building/buying it and it has been fantastic! I've done a leadville ride, GP race @ thunder valley and this last Sun a incredible ride to 14k ft horseshoe loop trail! This IS the little bike that can! I can't say enough good about it and wanted to give a huge shout out to Walt (WB) for guiding me through the build and getting this bike dialed in. It does everything I ask it to. Def one of my fav bikes ever! and i've owned over 30! I'm waiting on getting a Lectron carb as the altitude changes we ride I think it's mandatory. Thanks to all here for so much info.11140282_888645007876692_8421079691769364414_n.jpg

It was one of my favorite rides although very tough trail at 13k ft elevation! Very, very technical.

Just picked up a '12 WR144 to replace my TE310R. Agree- they are sweet machines!

Yeah we are lucky to have the great scenery here where we ride. Amazing mountain peaks everywhere. To Jam....def go to the 165 kit.....amazing the difference.

Just put my 165 kit on yesterday with Lectron and FMF exhaust - kicked off second time!

Look forward to your reviews.

BTW if you end up with a bog and hit it is the power valve adjustment. Like you a buddy just got a Lectron and 165 from me and it had a bog and then big hit and was hard to ride. We played with jetting before I realized I'd seen this issue before. Adjusted the power valve arm and boom, runs fantastic. Dont over look that.

Yes, always make sure you have plenty of tension against the upper spring keeping them closed below opening rpms. I like to see at least a good mm of displacement of the spring away from opening.

I have done 30 miles today and it runs very smooth. Lugs nicely, splutter-free through a boggy mid and then bang! Screaming higher than it ever has before. Economy is slightly improved. Maybe as much as ten per cent. Smokes less too and less gunk. Vibrates a bit up there, now though. Not as bad as a 300 but a bit more than it did.

So what do I do exactly to the powervalve? Never touched it before
