  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc wave style rear disc

OK, got the disc today and have it mounted up.

Looks good, but I question the hardness of the material. Hope to get it out this weekend and see how it works.

Ran my new disc today and it seemed to do fine. Got it all muddy and very hot. The marks you see can not really be felt and the pads didn't seem to have any excessive wear.

old thread yeh but just a heads up to anyone that may do a search. race discs rears good, fronts absolutely terrible. pad chewers to the extreme! unless you plan on carrying spare pads on a ride(im not joking either) & have a vast quantity of front pads then steer clear of the fronts. rear as I said seem pretty good & look sweet. front bit ugly but now im just being nasty:p

I got a rear racedisc a year or so ago (to get rid of the rattle) and the thing lasted 2 hours of easy riding time before it was warn worse than my 10 year old original.
So the material quality is suspect.
I complained to guy and he reckoned he was getting a new batch and would send one out. It never happened.
Its gamble, some win, some loose.

Bought race discs years ago and they were fine, lasted well and seemed as good as oem so bought a rear to use on a spare rear wheel - I now know why some complain about them as it was trashed in one muddy ride as were the pads !!! Seems the material used varies from batch to batch, Wont reccomend them again thats for sure.
