  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
Pro Class
New HVA case, New bearings and new water pump seal but water is still dripping solidly from the bypass drain. the seal is facing to the gearbox with the spring facing out. What have i done wrong...?

I had engine oil dripping from the bypass. I reused a sealed bearing on the shaft from the oil side when I repaired the case. I have yet to fill with coolant to check that problem yet. Been a few years now, life and what not always gets in the way.

Ain't got a worn area where the old seal fitted Sur prize ?

I use 1 and a half sealed bearings as I have had the oil leak before and spent ages hunting it down.
The full sealed one I flip a seal off and pack it with water proof grease to extend the life of it.

Did all that and all are brand new cover, seal, bearings etc etc. the water pump shaft is the only thing not new... The seal could be th wrong one.. Just rode a few races at the Viper meet in bgo, topped her up on the start line and away we went. missed the start of the first race:mad: filling up the rads, had a firm grip on last place in the second... rode with all the modern bikes... last a gain but fun.. then a young bloke cartwheeled into the tyres and broke something so bloodwagon time. then next race one shock seized  in the compressed position and i couldnt work out why a, it wouldnt turn and b... why had the track suddenly cut up so rough???. a few waving punters confirmed my suspicions... so that was my day!
