• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

WATER PUMP ISSUES... PLEASE HELP!!!

Huskymicky818

Husqvarna
AA Class
So I recently discovered that my water pump was the cause of some very loud rattling sound that was mysteriously coming from that side of motor.... well apparently the nut that holds the impeller on came loose and disappeared in through motor I think, thus leaving the impeller to be "free floating" for close to 1500mi but I was out of town and had no choice but to get home.... Well I ordered the new parts I needed AND NOW when I mount the impeller by matching the flat side of shaft ther is quite a bit of play and I'm worried that isn't normal?? Please help me, I am going to post pics now and a vid as soon as I can make itIMG_6336.JPG IMG_6334.JPG IMG_6335.JPG IMG_6336.JPG IMG_6334.JPG IMG_6335.JPG

Put two drops of Loctite Sleeve Retainer on the shaft flat, avoiding the threads, and fasten the impeller down. Let it cure for 24 hours before buttoning up the bike.

Or buy a new pump shaft pn 8000A4789

Did you find the impeller nut wedged somewhere in the cooling system?

also, maybe flush your cooling system (bottom of the rads, too) to get the metal "dust" out- although I'm thinking you've already done that.

good luck.

Well while waiting for replacement water pump parts, I LOST MY KEYS SO I just now got new keys and am gonna install new ignition and hopefully everything's all good when I button her all back up!?!?
