  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Water pump impeller removal

Tzedz

Husqvarna
AA Class
Im trying to remove the waterpump impeller on my 95 360 Husky as i think the either the o ring or the seal behind has gone awol.So after looking at some sugestions on the forums, its seems as though ive to turn the impellor clockwise as its on left hand threads, now ive tried this and it just spins even in gear, any ideas?

does it spin free like nothing holding it back, if so probably something broken
if it feels like it has drag, could be bum threads?

They do get pretty corroded especially if it's an OE part from 95. I can't remember if it's a reverse thread but l chucked it into gear and locked the rear wheel with a pole so as l can undo the impeller - had to replace the whole lot anyway.

The impeller is spinning freely,no drag at all,im thinking somthings broke inside, unless somone knows differently,if this is the case is it possible to lean the bike on its side to remove the clutch cover without draining the oil.Cheers for replys great source of info.

Im thinking the problem lies behind the Clutch cover case, maybe the impellor shaft is broken, theres only one way to find out.Rads already drained

If the water pump aint working, when you start the bike up, take the rad cap off and rev the thing, the water level should rise or swirl...if it doesn't then there is a blockage or the water pump has seized.
Before pulling things apart, just to the simple test and you'll be on the right path.

Does anyone know if the gear on the impellor shaft is supposed to be fixed/threaded onto the shaft or is it an interference fit,as mine is spinning freely and not turning the impellor as i thought,if it is an interference fit is there any shimming that i could do?
