• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Warp9 rims for TE630

Mine had a sticker on the bike that indicated to keep it under 5K for the first 1000 miles. Thought that manual indicated that also. Will check and confirm when I have an opportunity.

Never said the motor can't handle it. I ride mine continuously at 80 mph on the freeway.

"3. Because they do not mak a TE 630 specific set, the rear rotor they send is 250MM and does not fit on the bike, the rotor strikes the caliper and the axle won't line up."

Was this ever resolved? I'm in a similar situation, except I have a 610 and bought the Warp9 sumo kit from Motostrano. Swapping the rear rotor isn't a BIG deal. But, it wastes time, and I shouldn't have to do it, since I paid for a rotor!
I've been waiting for Warp9 to make the correct rotor for like 9 months, because they said they would. But now, they have stopped answering my emails when I ask (and so has Motostrano). I'm not being a dick in the emails- just asking if/when this will be done. But, at this point, I'm pretty annoyed.

I have the same problem and I look forward to the correct rear rotor and front brake adapter for husky 610

It can be done! I now have a TE 630 with sumo tires and a 320mm radial front rotor off a sm 511 on my bike .Pics to come of all what is needed to be done .It couldn't have been done without the help of Robbie at Lang's off road shop. There is some machine work to be done but is ,inmor .You will have to open up the rotor slot in the brembo bracket and mill out the adaptor from ebc in one of thier super moto kits .You will also need the 320mm rotor from a sm 511 if you want the speedo to work . Also you will need another left side fork protector to modify for clearance of the rotor.

I will do a post tomorrow night ..bike is reconfigured for a long gravel run tomorrow and will take pics when I switch back to street.

Yeah, the wheels are alright...but I'm more interested in what you did to the front mask
(...and is that a TE630 front fender? )

Front mask is x2 trial tech and front fender is sm 610. sm 610 mask is more sexy than x2, thats only my opinion..

Frustrating, to be sure. Hang in there...you'll get it sort outed and you'll love riding the TE with SM wheels.

But...let us know if you get the front end wobblies at 75+mph. I've tried lots of things, but my front end gets very skittish at 65-70, and goes into full-on tankslap approaching 80. Not that I ride around at 80, but I was thinking of doing a track day. Can't do it with the thing handling like this. And, even a little lightness at 65 can be hair-raising on choppy freeway, or in the rain or crosswind. If I can't settle it down, I think I'll re-lace the front with a 19" rim.

I had that issue as well. Turned out it was the rear tire - I went from the stock Karoo to a T63 and still had it. Then I went to a Sahara rear and it is gone. No geometry changes and I had it up over 100.

I picked up a warp 9 kit but have some questions for you guys that have converted your TE630 with a sumo set up.

- How did you accomodate the front brake caliper hydro line with the larger rotor? The stock front left fork protector will not work, hits larger rotor, and either requires modification or an alternative fork protector.

- Is there anyway to attach a magnet to the larger rotor for the speedometer pick up?

Warp 9 now stocks the correct 220mm rear rotor and also the correct front brake relocator for the TE630 45mm fork. I just received both from them and this certainly resolves the problems reported earlier in this thread.
